چکیده
Herein, we report the application of four amino-tris(phenolate)-based metal complexes incorporating Ti(IV) or Zr(IV) centres (2a-3b) as homogeneous catalysts for conversion CO2 and epoxides into cyclic carbonates. The were synthesised, characterised then evaluated in combination with tetrabutylammonium iodide, bromide chloride binary catalytic systems reaction 1,2-epoxyhexane epoxide substrate at 12 bar pressure 90 °C 2 h. comprising two (2a 2b) showed similar performance. One notable exception was system consisting titanium complex 2b, bearing an axial Cl-ligand, chloride, which displayed higher activity compared to other titanium-based systems. Even achieved 3a, isopropoxide ligand, reached turnover numbers (TONmetal) up 1920 This performance is comparable that state-of-the-art this reaction. 3a explored further by investigating its applicability a broad scope, achieving quantitative several carbonate products 18 selectivity towards ? 98% all studied terminal 80% examined cyclohexene-type epoxides.

Highly efficient synthesis of cyclic carbonates from CO2 and epoxides over cellulose/KI.
Cellulose/KI is a very active, selective, stable, and recyclable catalyst for the cycloaddition reactions of CO(2) and epoxides due to the excellent synergetic effect of cellulose and KI. It is found that the hydroxyl groups on the vicinal carbons of cellulose play a key role for the very high efficiency of the catalyst.
متن کاملRobust bifunctional aluminium–salen catalysts for the preparation of cyclic carbonates from carbon dioxide and epoxides
Two new one-component aluminium-based catalysts for the reaction between epoxides and carbon dioxide have been prepared. The catalysts are composed of aluminium-salen chloride complexes with trialkylammonium groups directly attached to the aromatic rings of the salen ligand. With terminal epoxides, the catalysts induced the formation of cyclic carbonates under mild reaction conditions (25-35 °C...
متن کاملMetal–Organic Framework-Based Catalysts: Chemical Fixation of CO2 with Epoxides Leading to Cyclic Organic Carbonates
M. Hassan Beyzavi , Casey J. Stephenson and Yangyang Liu have contributed equally to this work. As a C1 feedstock, CO2 has the potential to be uniquely highly economical in both a chemical and a financial sense. In particular, the highly atom-economical acid-catalyzed cycloaddition of CO2 to epoxides to yield cyclic organic carbonates (OCs), a functionality having many important industrial appl...
متن کاملMechanism of Cyclic Carbonate Synthesis from Epoxides and CO2**
Three interconnected catalytic cycles account for the title reaction catalyzed by a bimetallic aluminum(salen) complex and Bu(4)NBr. In the first, Bu(4)NBr acts as a nucleophile to activate the epoxide. In the second, Bu(3)N generated in situ serves to activate CO(2). In the third, the aluminum(salen) complex brings the two activated species together so that the key bonds can be formed intramol...
